GeoCoins
Geocaching is a popular treasure hunt played by people worldwide. You hide a small treasure in a cache, record the location on a website on the internet. When someone finds the geocache, they make a note in the logbook provided, and record it on the internet.
Every geocache has a treasure in it. This can be anything from small toys to buttons and coins. You can buy geocoins especially for geocaching. Some coins, called Travel Bug, can be tracked on the internet. Those coins will have a tracking number stamped on them. Those coins can travel from geocache to geocache and you can follow their travel on the internet.
You have all kinds of coins, from foreign coins, to specially designed coins, gorgeous suncatcher coins, and different shaped coins.
Some geocoins have their own personal webpage where finders tell their stories.
A geocoin is a special coin created by individuals or groups of geocachers as a kind of signature item or calling card. Like Travel Bugs, each geocoin is assigned a unique tracking ID which allows them to travel from geocache to geocache or to be passed amongst friends, picking up stories along the way.
